Welcome to your Netflix Streaming Report for March 10, 2016. After the long week you deserve a relaxing staycation with a bowl of popcorn, a bucket of ice cream, and only your Netflix queue to judge you. This past week, Netflix Watch Instant has been kind enough to supply us with Louie Season 5, House of Cards Season 4, Victoria, and more. Also, find out what the Netflix and Chill pick of the week is.

Louie Season 5

Louie (Season 5) (Louis C.K.) Rated TV-MA [22 min] – The life of Louis CK, a divorced comedian with two kids living in New York. Starring Louis C.K., Hadley Delany, and Ursula Parker

As much as I enjoy Louie, this show has gotten darker and more existential. Season 5 is great, the character of Louie is growing and his world and relationships feel more evolved. But every episode is so poignant in its themes and plot devices. The show is very bingeable, but be prepared to feel a little hollow on the inside afterwards as your laughter comes more from uncomfortable realities than uplifting humor.

Victoria 2015 Movie

Victoria (Sebastian Schipper) Unrated [138 min] – While on holiday in Berlin, a young woman finds her flirtation with a local guy turn potentially deadly as their night out with his friends reveals its secret: the four men owe someone a dangerous favor that requires repaying that evening. Starring Laia Costa, Frederick Lau, Franz Rogowski, and Burak Yigit

What can be said for Victoria that hasn’t already been said? The experience of watching this single take film is captivating. Once the establishment of the characters take place the build up and tension of the second act makes for a really fun time knowing the camera has not cut once. Don’t even read the plot summary. Just watch Victoria and marvel in its wonder.

House of Cards Season 4

House of Cards (Season 4) (Beau Willimon) Rated TV-MA [50 min] – A Congressman works with his equally conniving wife to exact revenge on the people who betrayed him. Starring Kevin Spacey, Michael Gill, Kate Mara, and Robin Wright

I’m embarrassed to say it, but I haven’t seen a single episode of House of Cards 🙈. So I obviously haven’t and won’t be seeing Season 4 until I binge through the first three.

Netflix and Chill Pick of the Week:

Man Up Movie 2015

Source: litzabixler

Man Up (Ben Palmer) Rated R [88 min] – A single woman takes the place of a stranger’s blind date, which leads to her finding the perfect boyfriend.Starring Lake Bell, Simon Pegg, and Olivia Williams

Aside from one awesome dance sequence (seen above), Man Up has no redeeming qualities. Not even the charismatic actors involved could salvage the unlikeable duo we are forced to believe feel attracted to one another, let alone feel compelled to run through the streets professing their love. It’s a below average romcom that you and your Netflix partner will find uninteresting after the first 15 minutes. Enjoy!
